Stork Prints renews its rotary screen integration program

Stork Prints, a manufacturer of rotary screen printing equipment, has unveiled a renewed rotary screen integration program along with its new logo – SPG Prints – to the US market. José Maldonado, commercial manager, says, “The new logo is very much part of our new visual identity. However, our company name will remain Stork Prints, as our clients and relations have known us for many years.” Stork manufactures rotary screen modules that are fitted to printing presses, allowing printers to broaden the capabilities of their flexo, offset or gravure machines. Screen printing units are capable of laying down thick ink coatings – up to 300 microns – at high speed in a single pass. The applications include coarse, textured varnishes, Braille, thermochromic inks that change color at different temperatures, conductive inks for RFID antennae, electroluminescent lighting, solar panels, and security inks for anticounterfeiting purposes. The company’s RSI modules, available in a range of widths, are installed by more than 30 press manufacturers into new or existing presses. The company markets RotaMesh screens, a nonwoven, electroformed mesh made out of 100 percent nickel. Stork Prints also manufactures direct laser engraving machinery. The process is a purely digital means of imaging relief and nickel rotary screen printing forms – engraving and rinsing are the only required stages in the process. Direct laser engraving eliminates the need for UV light, film and such processes as exposure, washing and drying. Stork Prints is based in the Netherlands, and has US operations in Charlotte, NC.
