Weve had significant involvement in over 200 space missions and operate at the very forefront of UK Space Research. RAL Space was recently awarded 99m from the UK Government to develop the National Satellite Test Facility NSTF, which is now in the early construction phase. This stateoftheart facility will provide a world class set of colocated facilities for the assembly, integration and testing of space payloads and satellites. Once completed, the NSTF will have the capability to conduct Antennae, Electromagnetic Compatibility EMC, Vibration, Acoustic, Thermal and Pyroshock testing for payloads up to 7 tonnes within clean room conditions. This significant new investment adds to the existing facilities operated by RAL Space department, part of STFC, within UK Research and Innovation UKRI. About The Role As a result of the NSTF project, we now have a fantastic new opportunity for an Antennas and Electromagnetic Compatibility EMC Test Group Leader to join us to take the lead on the operation of the planned Electromagnetic compatibility and Antennae testing facilities. You would be joining us from the early stages of the facility development which gives the unique opportunity to build and lead a team of test engineers and to shape the operation of the facilities and the test campaigns from the very beginning. Your role will be to hold overall technical responsibility for agreeing the test programme from bid stage onwards through to successful delivery. With the majority of the facilities to be expected to operate to ECSSQST2007C, the Group Leader will work closely with the RAL Space Quality function to ensure compliance through the lifetime of the facilities. A key part of this important role will be engaging with the users of the facility and the wider testing community to keep abreast of the latest technical developments and then championing and driving technical developments in the facility. About You If you have dedicated experience of operating test facilities either radio frequencyantennae measurement or EMC as well as previous experience of managing and providing technical leadership to medium sized teams in this field, then we would really like to hear from you. You may be educated to degree level or equivalent or you may have a vocational qualification. As well as experience in this area, its important to us is that you have excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence on a technical basis with a wide range of customers. A dedicated, selfmotivated and positive approach is key with the ability to motivate and empower others as this exciting new project moves forwards. MTG System Verification Team Leader

Based in Darmstadt, Germany Within the Integration Verification and Validation IVV team undertaking system level integration, verification and validation activities of the endtoend Meteosat Third Generation system, the MTG System Verification Team Leader will be in charge of the verification engineering activities in close coordination with the Instrument Functional Chain Teams, the Operations Preparation team and the ground segment and system development teams. DUTIES Lead of the Verification Engineering Team and act as technical officer for the IV engineering support service contract Lead and coordinate the preparation of the system integration and verification plan Implement and manage the following Integration and Verification engineering activities Generate the test specifications Ensure availability and readiness of Integration and Verification Test tools and test data Ensure the test procedures are produced in line with the test specifications Support Test Readiness Reviews, Test Review Boards, Anomaly Review and Verification Control Boards Followup the test execution on the platforms and analyse test results in coordination with the relevant experts Support the traceability and provide verification records, as part of the verification control activity. Qualifications A University degree in a relevant discipline, i.e. computer science, or equivalent Languages Candidates must be able to work effectively in English and have some knowledge of French SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Substantial experience in system integration and verification of end to end Earth observation satellite systems, including test preparation and execution and use of simulators or tools to generate test data Experience in data processing for an Earth Observation satellite system Experience in spacecraft commanding and control Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Experience in leading small teams of engineers. EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS The initial contract will be of 4 years duration, with subsequent 5year contracts being awarded thereafter, subject to individual performance and organisation requirements. There is no limit to the amount of followup contracts a staff member can receive up to the EUMETSAT retirement age of 63 and there are certainly opportunities to establish a long career perspective at EUMETSAT. This post is graded A2A4 on the EUMETSAT salary scales. The minimum basic salary for this post is EURO 5,612 per month net of internal tax which may be negotiable based on skills and experience. The salary scale provides for increments on the anniversary of taking up employment, and scales are reviewed by the EUMETSAT Council with effect from 1 January each year.
