US apparel imports surged in May from a year earlier, whereas declining from their level in the pre-pandemic period, however. China's regained shares of the US market over the 5-month period, with imports rising more than 50% from Pakistan, Honduras, and El Salvador. Our report covers US apparel imports every month, comparing shipments from most origins in the last month and the year-to-date. Import data are available in volume, value, and unit value terms. Historical trends are analyzed over the 2000-2021 period, including cotton vs. man-made fiber apparel, China vs. Vietnam, and the Rest of the World (RoW).
