Colombia's Tigo-UNE unveils DTH service

(Telecompaper) Colombian operator Tigo-UNE, owned by Luxembourg-based Millicom, has started offering a direct-to-home (DTH) service in selected parts of the country. The service, dubbed Tigo Star, is currently available in some areas in the Cordoba, Antioquia and Sucre departments, with the operator planning to expand its pay-TV customer base to more subscribers outside Colombia's main cities by the end of the year. Two DTH packages are being offered on a postpay basis: a basic USD 15 per month plan with 114 channels including Win Sports, Tigo Music and Une, and a premium USD 22 per month offering with 137 channels and a total of 17 HD channels including BBC Earth, ESPN+, Fox, Fox Sports, TNT and Warner Channel.
