Position Reference 011 HNSciCloud is a European precommercial procurement PCP project cofunded by the European Commission Horizon 2020 Work Programme. This PCP will develop a set of requirements for cloud services addressing the needs of a group of buyers from across Europe that serve multiple dataintensive research communities. The RD services to be developed will need to be integrated with the resources in data centres operated by the buyers group and Europeanscale publicly funded eInfrastructures using open source solutions to build a hybrid platform on which a competitive marketplace of European cloud players can develop their own services for a wider range of users beyond research and science You will have the opportunity in being part of our software engineering team where your first assignment will be to work on an innovative cloudcomputing platform in collaboration with one of the worlds largest and most respected centres for scientific research in Geneva. You will be part of the RHEA team based in Brussels, Belgium working together with other partner Companies and European governmental organizations. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Collaborate with PM and project partners to enhance the cloud services IaaS, PaaS currently under development Definition and execution of a test plan to assess performances and functionality of the cloud platform Continuously assess quality of the cloud services provided to the client, identifying and reporting issues and helping the rest of the development team in implementing a solution Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have at least 2 years of experience working in a similar environment You have experience with scripting languages bash, python, javascript You have knowledge and experience with OS management Linux servers sysadmin competencies and deployment of applications You have experience in at least one commercial cloud PaaS e.g. AWS, Azure You have demonstrated experience with Webservers and web applications development You have knowledge of Git preference github ecosystem The following skills would be highly desirable You have knowledge of the fundamentals of Software Engineering and System Engineering You are used to work in an Agile environment Software QA, validation and testing You have knowledge of Cloud management platforms e.g OpenStack, CloudStack, OpenNebula You have knowledge of Docker You have knowledge of Multicloud management libraries e.g libcloud, jclouds, fog You have knowledge of Virtualization platforms You have knowledge of Big Data You have competencies on Cybersecurity How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level?
