Our client, based near Frankfurt in Germany, is responsible for establishing and operating weather forecasting and Earth observation satellite programmes with associated data telemetry and dissemination operations. One of their objectives is to contribute to the operational monitoring of the climate and the detection of global climate changes. They are seeking engineering consultancy support in the area of Ground Segment Operations. The role comprises a range of tasks including the provision of support to the routine operation of the satellite ground segment, as well as its evolution to include new functionality and system operations. The Consultant shall have the following mandatory skills and experience At least 5 years experience of System Operations in a realtime LEO spacecraft operations environment 5 years work experience defining and implementing the verification and validation of ground segment systems At least 3 years work experience defining , integration, acceptance testing and operation of mission data systems At least 3 years experience in the definition and maintenance of operational interfaces 3 years work experience in project and technical management coordination. Desirable experience includes Earth Observation ground segments Communications systems operations Operations security Coordination of systems development and upgrades within a 247 operations environment Windows and Linux operating systems The working language is English.
