GSOV and InterGCC Validation Engineer Spaceopal is the operations prime contractor for the European Galileo Satellite Navigation System and manages all Galileo Operations. The awarded European Commission EC contract to Spaceopal is more than just its satellites in space. Galileo Operations will provide highquality positioning, navigation and timing services to users across the whole world as a civilcontrolled service with guaranteed continuity of coverage. Tasks and Responsibilities The Ground Segment Operational Validation is an activity spanning across Galileo Control Centres aimed at ensuring readiness of the Galileo infrastructure and related operational products in preparation for live operations. The SpaceOpal SPO GSOV and InterGCC Engineer is a member of the SPO Ground Operations Engineering Team part of the Galileo Operations Prime contractor. Heshe will report to the SPO Ground Engineering Manager. The responsibility is to plan and coordinate harmonized Ground Segment Operational Validation activities across Segments and Sites liaising effectively with SPO and Core Team Member teams mainly TPZ and DLRGfR, Segment Provider teams from Industry and Customer representatives ESA. The main tasks are To plan and coordinate GSOV testing campaigns of upgraded ground infrastructure across more Segments To monitor and steer the development, planning and execution by CTMs of operational validation activities infrastructure and products within a given Segment as spread across 2 GCCs To support operational and operability improvement processes for Ground Elements To chair meetings for planning and coordinating the access to validation infrastructure by more entities To coordinate the development and validation of interGCC operational support tools To produce technical notes, plans and other documentation as required plus regular activities status reports Required Qualification and experience To be eligible, a candidate must Essential Degree in TelecommunicationsElectronicsInformatics Engineering, Physics with at least 5 years of work experience. Alternatively, a 8 years related work experience Have expertise and background in Space Systems Engineering andor in Spacecraft Operations in an international environmentmission Experience and background in Mission and SC Control segments engineering Experience and background in Ground Systems AIV or Operations Have experience in managing and tasking technical teams Possess a track record of work achievements from organized work planning Possess good liaising and communication skills Have a fluent knowledge of English Have security clearance Advantageous Experience and background in GALILEO or EGNOS programmes Knowledge of German andor Italian languages Work location Work shall be supported in approximately equal share from the GCCI in Fucino, Italy and from the GCCD Oberpfaffenhofen D travelling between the 2 sites as needed.
