Aurora is an established supplier of skilled manpower to ESA and in particular at ESTEC and ESAC. Aurora has the opportunity to expand our support to ESA. Overview The work will be performed onsite at ESTEC within the Directorate of the Human Spaceflight and Robotic Exploration HRE, in the Columbus Operations Division. The core activities for this post are envisaged as follows Contribution to the Performance Reviews of the Industrial Operator Team IOT Support to Columbus operations and engineering feasibility assessments Support the execution of payload operations in ISS increments Participate in the establishment of strategy and policy for longterm operations and maintenance for the ESA payload flight systems Engineering integration and logistics coordination for PLs Payloads and experiments Implement the Columbus systems and Payloads Engineering Operations and Maintenance Services and any interagency agreements for sustaining engineering of jointly operated facilities Support the implementation of ESA operations support contracts Coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields, like Columbus and Payloads enhancement and procurement division Support the increment integration activities and participate and represent ESA engineering and logistics as required on the increment integration and payload mission readiness meetings Oversee engineering integration of payloads Oversee coordination between ESA and NASA or other International Partners for Thermal Control System TCS Environmental Control Sub System ECLSS and payloads jointly operated Manage and coordinate with the Product Assurance the Material Review Boards MRB process as needed to support the resolution and recovery of failures inputs and summaries Troubleshooting of onboard system or PL issues including MRB participation Participate in the ECB process representing ESA as required Interface with the industrial System or Payload Engineering Managers as required for the implementation of engineering and maintenance function including monitoring of the industrial activities required for the repair and upgrades of the hardware Interaction with industrial operations engineering teams to manage the respective engineering work packages Evaluate and implement spare procurement and change requests Participate in the Design and Acceptance Review Process of the assigned European ISS elements, enhancements and experiments Contribute to the contractual transition for projects that have completed the development phase Manage the transfer and integration of the new infrastructure elements including the Engineering Data Base from the developers to the exploitation documentation database Familiarise with new infrastructure elements and processes as applicable Coordinate periodical expert centre meetings and teleconferences to control activities and services Provide operations engineering supportexpertise to projects in the CD phase, with the goal to establish the operations engineering and maintenance concepts Review and assess Experiment Science Requirements ESRs for engineering integration and maintenance aspects. Specific qualification requirements Applicants should have a postgraduate Masters or PhD degree in Engineering or Physics. Several years of experience in the design and verification of Operations related systems and products for the International Space Station ISS programme. Experience working in the international and multicultural environment of ESA and knowledge of its working processes and procedures is considered an asset. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands Applicants must be eligible to obtain security clearance by their national security administration. Being already in possession of security clearance will be considered an asset for the selection. Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University and provide evidence to ESA. Prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident. Location The work will be performed at the European Space Technology and Research Centre ESTEC at Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Contract The selected candidate will receive good remuneration. Will be registered for both social security and tax in the Netherlands. The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday. Training to improve efficiency and provide strength for future career are of course included. Aurora assist with relocation both with support and financially.
