A new rails-to-trails project planned for the Northwest Side

2015-05-27 21:57:18| Railroads - Topix.net

With less than two weeks until The 606 opens to the public, the creation of another rails-to-trails project on Chicago's Northwest Side is in the works. Called the Weber Spur Trail, a 2.7-mile-long multi-use path would stretch from Sunnyside Avenue north to Devon Avenue on a run of Union Pacific Railroad; railway traffic ceased there in the mid-2000s and the tracks were later removed, according to the city.
